Craig's Sleep Tips

Better Sleep, a Must for Healthy Weight!

Less may mean more.  For people who sleep under seven hours a night, the fewer zzzz's they get the more obese they tend to be according to a 2006 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report.  This may relate to the discovery that insufficient sleep appears to tip hunger hormones out of whack.  For example when a person sleeps less than 7 hours a night, Leptin, which suppresses appetite, is lowered and ghrelin, which stimulates appetite, gets a boost.  What does this mean to you?  The more tired you are the hungrier you'll become.

Bottom line, get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night to keep your mind and body healthy and happy :)
